Matthew Stumpf is an experienced attorney who has helped victims for years in pursuing justice. That pursuit is an attempt to right the wrongs his clients have suffered through the fault of another. Committed to his clients’ causes, Matthew has obtained substantial results, through settlement or trial, on variety of types of cases, including cases involving motor vehicle collisions, aviation crashes, train collisions and derailments, automobile versus pedestrian incidents, rideshare collisions, defective products, semi-truck collisions, commercial vehicle collisions, and dangerous condition cases, among many others.
Every case has a story that goes beyond just an incident. There is always a story about what the victim has lost and how the incident caused that person’s life to change. Finding a person’s story about their losses and changes, and then telling it, is one of Matthew’s specialties. He has done so time and time again on cases involving wrongful death, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spinal cord injuries, burn injuries, amputation and limb loss, orthopedic injuries to the spine and other body parts, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), loss of career and earning capacity, and extreme emotional distress.
His track record of results speaks for itself. In only 10 years of practice, Matthew has helped hundreds of people recover total settlements and verdicts that altogether exceed $1 Billion dollars. Some of his noteworthy case results include:
- $800 million global settlement for the Route 91 shooting victims (representing more than 250 people regarding deaths, serious injuries, and/or psychological injuries);
- $160.5 million jury verdict for a man who suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of a vicious assault by security personnel for a nightclub;
- $61 million global settlement for the victims of a train collision and derailment (representing 9 victims), working as Plaintiffs’ Liaison Counsel and on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee;
- $52.7 million jury verdict for two brothers who were severely injured following a head-on collision with a CRST semi-truck;
- $41.8 million jury verdict (settled for $46 million) in a case involving a US Air Force Captain who suffered life-changing injuries to his leg in a motorcycle vs. truck collision;
- $25 million settlement for a young woman in her twenties who sustained life-changing leg, pelvic, and vascular injuries after she was run over by a commercial vehicle while she was lawfully crossing the street;
- $22.5 million settlement in an aviation crash and wrongful death case where a young father passed, leaving behind his wife and 3 young children;
- $14.5 million settlement for a husband and wife where the husband was in a severe rear-end collision coming home from work, leaving him with complex orthopedic leg and arm injuries and a traumatic brain injury;
- $10.5 million settlement for a woman in her late 60s who was hit by a car and sustained a traumatic brain injury and nonsurgical orthopedic fractures; and
- $7.5 million recovery following a $6.1 million jury verdict for a woman who sustained complex injuries to her neck and a traumatic brain injury.
